Dr. John Morris: Leading Dentist Dedicated to Patient Comfort and Results
Dr. John Morris, an accomplished dentist in Augusta and owner of Morris Family Dentistry, has been making a positive impact since joining the practice in 2024. John has a deep connection to his roots in Augusta, GA, where he was born and raised. He completed his high school education at Aquinas High School and then attended Mercer University. His passion for dentistry led him to the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University.
John was drawn to the dental field by a strong desire to help others. He was motivated by seeing too many people self-conscious about their smiles to the point of not smiling in public. His mission is to restore their confidence and help them smile again. Additionally, John finds great satisfaction in solving problems and alleviating pain. He is grateful for the opportunity to make a tangible difference in his patients’ lives.
A defining moment in John’s career was hearing a patient say, “You’re the reason I’m smiling again.” This affirmation solidified his career choice and continues to inspire him every day. John is particularly interested in ensuring patient comfort, understanding that many people fear dental visits. His commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all patients is unwavering. For those with significant anxiety, he offers IV moderate sedation, expanding access to care for previously neglected individuals.

John’s dedication to giving back is evident through his participation in mission trips. In January, he traveled to Guatemala for a mission and continuing education trip, during which he provided free dental care to local Guatemalans. This experience deepened his appreciation for his fortunate circumstances, and he now commits to returning every two years.
Throughout his academic career, John demonstrated leadership and excellence. He served as class president for all four years in dental school. He received numerous awards, including the Mark Ritz GA Academy of General Dentistry Award, the International College of Dentists Leadership Award, the AAID Implant Dentistry Award, and the American College of Dentists Professionalism Award. He has also pursued extensive continuing education, enabling him to offer a wide range of treatments, including implants, full-mouth rehabilitation, and aesthetic crowns/veneers.
Outside of his professional life, John is the eldest of seven children, with five sisters and one younger brother. He married his wife, Caroline, in June 2023 and enjoys playing pickleball, watching college football, and traveling. His strong family bonds and diverse interests enrich his life, providing a well-rounded perspective that benefits his dental practice.
